Director John Hughes passed away today, and he will be missed. To quote the man himself, ""Oh, he's very popular Ed. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wasteoids, dweebies, dickheads - they all adore him. They think he's a righteous dude."

For those of us of a certain age, this is pretty shocking.
Can't say I remained a "fan" of his movies as I got older and developed my own tastes. But his flicks are such a part of being a teenager in the mid-80s that you can't help but feel he was a part of it all.
