Bearing False Witness

Kay Hagan, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate from North Carolina, has recently pulled ahead of Senator Liddy Dole in the polls. Liddy, class act that she is, put up an ad accusing Hagan of being a godless heathen. No, seriously.

Well, Hagan's come back with an ad of her own and it's biblical in its wrath. Enjoy.

THANKS FOR COMING THROUGH, guys!! We're hanging in around here. I've known Kay for over 20 years and she rocks. She will be a fan-effing-tasting Senator.

Please call everyone you know in NC and get them to vote for her and go to www.kayhagan.com if you want to contribute.

You know, all these Evangelical Christian Republicans would be doing great if it weren't for that darned pesky Bible!

Darnit, as a godless American I was about to vote for Kay Hagan.

Now all I got is that muslim guy to vote for.

I agree with SD, that was a classy-but-tough response.

I hope as many people see it as saw Dole's ad. It could work against Dole the way Clayton Williams' refusal to shake Ann Richards' hand worked against him in Texas in 1990.

CNN has a poll out -- taken before the godless ad and the counterpunch -- that showed the race at 53-44. Hopefully it stays there or widens.

Some day, I promise to come back and tell a bedtime story about this. For now, I must abstain.
