Sopranos

Well, it looks like all the other internet tubes are getting clogged with discussion about last night's final episode of The Sopranos, so why not here too?

What did you think? Too much? Too little?

Leave your praise, complaints and spoilers in the comments below.

I gotta tell you I think Rickey Henderson got it right in his synopsis and in why he liked the ending.

Yeah, I'm with Rickey.

There's a lot of bitching about the ending, but I thought it was pretty fitting. David Chase loves to leave loose ends out there—remember Pine Barrens?—and there was no way in hell he was going to end the show with Tony’s death or imprisonment.

Instead, he brought the series full circle, with Tony bitching to a new female therapist, and feeling besieged from all sides. The final meet with Uncle Junior showed him that his current power and status was fleeting -- the guy who used to run North Jersey is now abandoned in a state asylum without even his memories. Then the show ends with a focus on the two threats hanging over him—the looming indictments and the menace of a hit from the guy in the Members Only jacket.

Rather than ease out of the series, Chase just cut it off in mid-dread. I thought it was pretty fitting.

We unsubscribed from HBO. The only downside I noticed was missing the t. & a. at the Badda Bing every three or four weeks. The upside was cutting the cable bill in half and not having to watch Meadow get fat.
