Truth and Consequences

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Pentagon wants the White House to seek an additional $99.7 billion to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to information provided to The Associated Press. The military's request, if embraced by President Bush and approved by Congress, would boost this year's budget for those wars to about $170 billion.
Given there are 295,734,134 people in the United States - that comes to about $575 per person for this year alone. With the wife and three kids, the Studiodave clan is on the hook for $2875 to support the Bush foreign policy of 2007.

Good thing they are tackling that Death Tax.

You conservatives, always complaining about your taxes.

At least your money's being well-spent.

Did you see that we're now passing the total (adjusted for inflation) amount spent on Vietnam? Heck of a job, bushie.

But Thrill, at least we're winn--

Oh, that's right. We're not even winning anymore. Damn.

No, we're not winning. But Bush assures us "victory is achievable."

Then again, bankrupting the U.S. and getting the whole rest of the world so down on our case we'll be 30 years digging out from under is also achievable. And all too likely with George W. Bush in charge.
