Bridge to Indictment

The man who told us the internet is a series of tubes could have to worry about his own tube pretty soon:
Agents from the FBI and the Internal Revenue Service yesterday raided the Alaska home of Sen. Ted Stevens (R), as part of a broad federal investigation of political corruption in the state that has also swept up his son and one of his closest financial backers, officials said.

How's about you just tell us when a Congressional Republican isn't under investigation?

How long do you think it takes to execute a warrant in a cabin? Or does Stevens live in an igloo?

Either way...

Do busted Republican senators get better accommodations at Club Fed than busted Republican representatives?

I'm just wondering if Stevens could end up next door to Duke Cunningham, or would he go to a VIP wing?

I think Strom Thurmond is the only republican not being investigated right now.

Hmm, where would Stevens be housed? I'm guessing they would give him the room that Scooter Libby would've gotten. You know how Stevens can whine like a baby when he doesn't feel like he's getting the respect he deserves.

I just want to see him shout "NOT GUILTY!" when they bring him to plead in court.

The NYT had a run-down of congressional corruption investigations last week, and I believe the score was 14-2 for the Republicans. I think they'll continue to run up the score.

Gotta give the GOP credit for being consistent. They'll do anything to win — even the indictment sweepstakes.

Are there any politicians in Alaska that aren't Stevenses or Murkowskis?

I loved Stevens's comment that he paid all the invoices he received.
