"Professor, Would You Say It's Time for Our Viewers to Panic?"

If you thought former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan got nervous behind the podium, take a look at the way this Assistant Secretary of the Treasury handles himself.

Hard to believe the economy's in the toilet with leadership like this.

I actually kinda felt bad for the guy. I had the feeling he actually cared, at least a little. I much preferred his uncomfortable honesty to Cheneyspeak.

"The economy's great, and it's getting better. In fact, saying bad things about the economy only makes it worse. We're in the last throes of the housing adjustment as we speak!"

Yeah. I kinda agree with TH here...this is a guy who pretty clearly knew what was wrong but couldn't say what was wrong, becausee that would be very not-burying-your-head-in-the-sand of him. Which, also as TH points out, you can't do in theis administration.

"The economy is in full recovery. Saying otherwise will cause Al Qaida to win. Why do you hate America?"

Goddamn bleeding heart libruls.

To paraphrase the conservative pundit in the movie Airplane: "Listen, he chose to join this administration, he knew what he was getting into. I say: Let 'em crash!"
