Thanks to the fine people of Firedoglake, I finally had a chance to watch Joe Lieberman's pathetically sad new attack ad against Ned Lamont.
It's even worse than I'd assumed. After months of arguing that Lamont is the tool of "far-left nuts," now they're implying that he's a Republican stalking horse for that evil political mastermind, Lowell Weicker. Or Yogi Bear. Who knows? I can't really wrap my head around the subtle, nuanced metaphors of the ad.
Check it out for yourself.

Yeah, that commercial is some weird stuff. Joe accusing another dem of being a closet republican is pretty rich.
Cub: "I agree with the Republicans 80 percent of the time!"
How does Joe back that up? Lamont is a private citizen...does he have a voting record? WTF?
And whatever Joe's voting record is, it's bullshit. How many times does he screw the Party on a cloture vote that matters to set up the meaningless posture vote that "counts" towards his scorecard?
On Alito, he voted FOR cloture. He failed to support the filibuster. But his ad will say he voted "no." Thanks, Joe.
My parents are here in Michingan for the weekend, they came armed with a bunch of papers from Connecticut. Columnists like Colin McEnroe (the Mitch Albom/Dave Barry of CT) have been lambasting Lieberman over the last year. This ad will be manna for them.
A great ad for assuring that the 4 - 8 year old vote is a lock. Cartoons, Bugs Bunny-like cartoon violence; it has it all!
I tried to get my 1-year-old to look at it, but he ignored it in lieu of smashing his plastic cups together repeatedly. He is so wise at such a young age.
Joe's more comfortable with his latent Republicanism than the other Dems are.
Hill, for instance, is still in the closet, like her hubby was.
