Et Tu, Rupert?

Fox News has a new poll out on the president, and it's not looking good.

Peering past a large grain of salt, I see the Fox poll shows Bush sinking to 72 percent among Republicans. Could this just be the first part of a downward trend — in Republican support?

The logical next thing is for the right-wing noise machine to launch an attack. Can you imagine Sean Hannity ripping into Republicans who are wandering off the reservation with one of his mean-mouthed diatribes? Limbaugh taking verbal dumps on them? Dick Cheney telling them to F-off?

Double whew!

How about the finding that more people think Dems have good ideas for governance than Repugs? What's going on? I thought I was in the party of no ideas.

First, I dislike surveys with such small samples. But they're OK when I like the results!

I haven't liked the GOP much since they started bullying everyone around, and then passed a whole bunch of legislation for rich people, and then hugely increased spending and the deficit. Oh, and then there's Iraq.

The federal gov't needs some fiscal restraint, a [novel?] concept that has actually been shown to attract support. Eliminating deficit spending worked wonders in the VA guvner election.

I'm pretty sure that would take you back to the beginning of the party.
