The Frogurt Is Also Cursed

The good news for George Allen is that he went a whole week without any revelations about his racist past. The bad news is he's been hiding stock options from Congress.
For the past five years, Sen. George Allen, has failed to tell Congress about stock options he got for his work as a director of a high-tech company. The Virginia Republican also asked the Army to help another business that gave him similar options.

Congressional rules require senators to disclose to the Senate all deferred compensation, such as stock options. The rules also urge senators to avoid taking any official action that could benefit them financially or appear to do so.
No word yet on whether any deer heads were involved.

I think he should preemptively declare victory in the election . . . and resign.

Why subject himself to the unnecessary humiliation that's sure to follow.

First, I think "Virginia high-tech company" sounds too much like "Virginia Tech." Disassociate thyself, wacky Wahoo!

"We were following guidelines based on the reporting disclosures," said Dan Allen [an Allen spokesman], no relation to the senator. "It was a matter of public record. He certainly wasn't hiding anything."

What kind of public record? Like the plans to demolish Arthur Dent's house?

"...It was on display on the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard.'"

Following the letter and not the spirit of the rules can get one in trouble, Felix!
