Fried Rice

Keith Olbermann's been on a roll with his Special Comments lately, but his latest is without doubt the best yet.

Seriously, take a moment to check it out. He comes after Condi Rice like a whirlwind of teeth and elbows. I kept waiting for the ref to stop the fight.

That's good stuff. She is a goddamn joke.

But I prefer the seething Olbermann comments where he is so visibly angry you feel it radiate from the monitor.

I'm reminded of a great line from "30 Rock" about how she always sounds like she's about to cry. Maybe it's because she knows she's a fraud.

I dunno. A Chevron tanker named after you and size 14 Ferragamos? Sounds like the life story of the most privileged drag queen EVAH!

My favorite parts were where noted that the German diplomats declared war in HER OFFICE, and that Marshall -- the SEC of STATE -- went to congress to ask for money to rebuild Europe.

Meanwhile, the economy continues to head into the shitter.

The funniest thing I have seen today.

So it's okay to compare Bush to Hitler, but we can't compare Saddam to Hitler?

My, what a short memory we have.

First, the Saddam-Hitler comparison is the smallest point made by Olbermann, TJ. Rice's analogy was all about authorizing resolutions for war and postwar involvement, and as Olbermann notes, she gets the history wrong every single time.

And second, did you even read the McWhorter piece, TJ? It's not saying Bush is Hitler, it's comparing the authoritarian legislation passed by the German parliament during the 1930s to that passed in America during the 2000s. Big difference.

Actually, OM, they were both pretty bad analogies, and I agree with the vast majority of what Oberman said. However, it was the outrage about comparing Sadam (a petty dictator) to Hitler (true evil) that rang hollow to me. I've seen protestors and liberals comparing Bush to Hitler from day one. And while no one is actually saying Bush gassed 6 million Jews, it just seemed a bit hypocritical on that one point. Otherwise, Oberman was pretty spot-on.
