I loved Billy Jack as a kid. Why'm I thinking a viewing today would be just a tad disappointing?

I feel the same way. I went back and rewatched the original Walking Tall last year, and it ruined a nice memory for me. Never again.

That's a good idea for a post: movies I loved when I first saw them (ages 8-15), but I'm too scared to see again.

You know, I don't think I've seen Stripes in about 20 years. Terrified to see it again. I think Meatballs may be in the same category.

Yep. Keep "Meatballs" and "Stripes" where they belong — fuzzy memories of early VCR rentals...

It should be noted that the list at Poor Man is Top 100 Best Worst Movies, which means there is some appeal (camp or otherwise)...

You can't think of Bill Cosby movies without thinking of "Mother, Juggs and Speed"...and you can't think of "Mother, Juggs and Speed" without thinking of tricked out ambulances and Racqel Welch's, er, jugs flailing all over the screen...

Saw that movie back in early high school when the local UHF stations started showing uncut movies every night at 8:00. I saw a TON of movies during that stretch...most of them much better than MJ&S. Way back in the day, having channel 20 and TV38's "Movie Loft" was better than eight HBOs.

Thanks for throwing the link to the old LLPON thread from Thanksgiving. That was good stuff.

Definitely keep "Meatballs" stowed away, but I've seen "Stripes" in the past year and still laughed through a lot of it. Pay it a visit.

Glad to know I'm not alone on "MJ&S." Outstanding.

MJ&S. Gotta love the 70s. Where else you getting Racquel Welch -- decked out in, uhhh, very little -- and Bill Cosby together?

I've said this before, and I'm sure I'll say it again: I understand why everyone talks of the 70s at the decade of horror. But as a pre-teen, they were AWESOME.
