Kaine and unAbel

The Washington Post endorses Tim Kaine (D) for governor of Virginia and blasts his republican opponent, Jerry "Don't Hate Me 'Cuz I'm Beautiful" Kilgore:

That history [of supporting the 2004 tax overhaul] should make Virginia voters more confident in Mr. Kaine than in Mr. Kilgore as a potential steward of the state's finances. But it is not the end of the story. For in other budget and fiscal areas, Mr. Kilgore appears not just wrongheaded or ill-informed; in fact, he is a radical.

That's gonna hurt come winter!

(Hat-tip to Mrs. T for the title.)

Apparently, the Kilgore campaign is running negative ads attacking Kaine for being the court-ordered defense attorney for a murderer.

The Dems need to run their own negative response. Maybe just sound clips of Kilgore speaking.

Yeah, you got that right. Court ordered to defend a murderer. The innocent lilly white victims? They were trying to buy drugs off the murderer.

He's also got an ad with a woman saying her husband, a cop, was murdered - by an illegal alien.

It's classic GOP tactics, but I worry Kaine will have a classic Dem (a la Dukakis) "high road" response.

The Post did a typical "Kilgore says Kaine loves murderers and illegal immigrants, but Kaine says Kilgore used to be a gas lobbyist, so they're being equally negative". Thanks a lot.
