House Democratic leaders are holding a closed-door meeting with members of their caucus this afternoon to discuss a new slogan for the 2006 midterm elections: "Together, We Can Do Better" or "Together, America Can Do Better," according to Democratic sources.Something tells me that this isn't going to define the party for anyone who's not already on their side.
"There's this sense that people don't know where we stand or what our ideas are," a House Democratic leadership aide said. "Messaging has been the problem. … People should know where we stand. We've made our views clear on every issue that has come to the floor."I'm sure that the average American is paying very close attention to how their congressman is voting.
Democrats: The other white meat.

We should try to get the rights to “We must move forward, not backward, upward not forward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!”
The new operative phrase that applies universally...
ass.holes.
I mean, seriously, is this the best they can do?
Oh, I don't even want to contemplate this title...
The title is a reference to The Big Hit (1998). Or, more specifically, the movie within that movie. One of the characters imports a Japanese action film and that's the English translation of the title. Explaining it doesn't do it justice, so you'll have to trust me it's frickin hilarious. That alone makes the movie worth a rental.
To clarify, the joke is hilarious. The Big Hit -- the movie itself -- is 3 out of 5 stars.
