For Whom the Bell Tolls

Ask not, Karl. Trust me.

On this week's installment of the Geriatric Profanity Disorder (GPD) that the world knows and loathes as the McLaughlin Group, it seems that Larry O'Donnell has let the cat out of the bag. The Time documents, according to O'Donnell, will reveal that Matt Cooper was leaked the information about CIA operative Valerie Plame by none other than Karl Rove.

So it looks like Joe Wilson just may get to see his wish come true. I doubt they'll actually frog-march Rove out of the White House. He's too good an image-maker to let that happen. The FBI will probably cuff him on board an aircraft carrier, with a banner reading "Justice Accomplished" in the background. He'll let Bush use the arrest as a sign that he has, indeed, brought honor and integrity back to the White House by bringing the cuplrits to justice in a very swift two years' time.

In any case, between the scramble to replace Sandra Day O'Connor and this new round of the Plame Game, it looks like we might be spared the usual summer TV news slate of missing white women, shark attacks, and the like. That's good enough for me.

You know, all the other (and totally inferior) blogs I've been reading about kiss-and-tell Rove have been "well, we knew this for a few months now, so it's not much of a surprise." Whaa? I missed that newsflash.

Great Rove pic, by the way. Maybe someone should start Friday Roveblogging.
