Tijuana: The Happiest Place on Earth

And it's going to get even happier.
Mexican President Vicente Fox will sign a bill that would legalize the use of nearly every drug and narcotic sold by the same Mexican cartels he's vowed to fight during his five years in office, a spokesman said Tuesday.

The list of illegal drugs approved for personal consumption by Mexico's Congress last week is enough to make one dizzy — or worse.

Cocaine. Heroin. LSD. Marijuana. PCP. Opium. Synthetic opiates. Mescaline. Peyote. Psilocybin mushrooms. Amphetamines. Methamphetamines.

Man, the right-wing folks who were upset about illegal aliens coming across the Mexican border are going to go ballistic when they realize massive amounts of drugs can make it across too.

I hope this means Minuteman leader/nutjob Jim Gilchrist finally decides to run for president in 2008. It's be like Pat Buchanan Jr.

I can see the bumper stickers now:

Drug Mules: We Keep the Drugs, You Keep the Mules.

Okay, long bumper sticker. but it'll fit on a hummer.

Well, don't all Mexicans drive ages-old station wagons? That bumper sticker will fit on there...

I'm totally suprised by Mexico on this move. It's a very liberal approach to take to the drug problem and it's certainly a FAR cry from all the buddy-buddying Bush and Fox did way back in the day. I wonder if we'll go to war with Juarez now too...

Speaking of drugs...I wonder when Bush is going to start dealing out the soma to the masses.

Soma? Hmmm, I always thought of him as more of an Orwellian dystopian kind of guy than a Huxleyan one.

Actually, I really think he's the kind of guy who hears "dystopia" and wonders "wait, which topia?" But you get my point.

Fox has been pretty PO'd with Bush in the past few years. This might just be his F-U.

Actually, might this not be a case of Fox and Bush working more closely together than ever before?

War on Terra: We will fight the terrorists over there so we don't have to fight them here.

War on Drugs: We will use narcotics over there so we don't have to use them here.

Not a bad point, Thrillhous. I'm sure both the White House and Fox are imagining some killer photo ops from this -- "Killer Buzz Accomplished."
