Church Chat

I have been considering a dedicated Judeo / Christian post for some time. I think I can speak for the majority of the editors at LLPON when I say we are fairly spiritual people. I would like to have this church chat just be a posting of a Bible quote. Simply a reminder that as much as the right claims to have a monopoly on values and faith - generally, when you are pointing a finger, you are really pointing the finger back at your own insecurities.

And so to kick it off... Matthew 5:38-40. And Jesus said:

You have heard that it is said, 'Eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn him to the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him take your cloak as well.

That Bible can get trickey when taken litterally....

It's pretty obvious in this passage Jesus was defending the right to bear arms.

With the prices that Jesus has on upscale men's clothing, he's practically giving them away!

Rod, doubtless you meant to say "bare arms".

Well played, John.

Dude, Matthew is so 80s. All the kool kids today are into John.

No way, T'hous. Luke is where it's AT! John is just way too liturgical for my plebian tastes.

In light of semi-rumors like
this, I think this is a welcome addition to the blog rotation.
