Strange, in a way, how it's so different in tone and temper this time. In the '60s it was incendiary. Now, it's more like cold alienation or simmering resentment, depending on who's talking.
The oddest thing of all, at least to me, is how quickly after re-electing Bush, so many independents and non-hard-core Republicans finally awoke to how thoroughly bad his judgment is, how out of the mainstream his notions are and how awful he is at governing.

Oy, what a predicament. Next thing you know, the war will be more unpopular than new Coke.
It really is odd, SWA. We swung so quickly from "everyone loves the war" to "everyone hates it" that it's taken everyone by surprise.
I guess we've always hated the war with Oceania.
