I look forward to my annual USA TODAY purchase tomorrow...
Picking my brackets has become a cold and calculated chore at this point. My pool rewards upsets through some crazy-ass square root formula, so it means walking a tightrope between teams I want to pick, teams I should pick and making sure I have 12/5 upsets.
Of note: Even though I live in Ann Arbor, I am glad Michigan didn't make it. I hate Tommy Amaker. The fact that he moved here the same year I did still burns me up. He sucks.
Lame teams for the (local) Auburn Hills bracket as well.
Oh, and it was a lot more fun to pick Gonzaga deep back in the day...
Texas, UConn, Ohio State, Pitt — but I reserve the right to change those picks before the tip.
I hope the lack of chatter on this thread is due to the fact that you're all planning on playing hooky on Thursday and Friday, and are working double today to compensate.
Haven't picked my brackets yet, but I'm glad to not be burdened by my cellar dweller alma mater.
Usually I start with picking Duke to lose as soon as feasible. I thought I might have to put them in the Final Four this year, but I think they could lose earlier than that. They've got one thing going for them: Redick is oh-so-fine!!!
I always like writing it in, but I just don't see So Ill advancing. The "cool name" strategy won't work this year--sorry also to Winthrop, Bucknell, and Belmont.
Fie on the committee for putting G'town in Minneapolis!!
I didn't even look at the brackets 'til last night, when I was checking my baseball scores at WhatIfSports.com. Their comuter simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and it predicts a Final Four of Texas, Memphis, UConn and Florida, with UConn beating Texas for the national championship.

Alright, this will change by morning, but I'm going with Texas, UCLA, UNC, and Boston College.
That's right, no top seeds. It's March Madness the Max Power way!

If not, you people make me sick.
"...playing hooky on Thursday and Friday..."
Ah, those were the days...
You can still have those days off, Mr. F. Two words: "bird flu."
My extended thoughts Here
Short version,
Texas, Kansas, UCONN and BC, though BC pick I'm waffling on, it's more a no-confidence vote on Allan Ray's eye injury than anything else.
Living in East Lansing, MI, I am a Spartan. But I have no bones about saying my Spartans get picked-off by Kansas. They just got no heart this year.

Actually, I think Bucknell could pull off a first-round upset. Maybe So. Alabama as well.
It's my Lock of the Week!

Make of that what you will.
